Remember when Jamie O’Hara was the future of English football?
Ok, we’re bending the truth a bit there, but he certainly used to be the future of something.
O’Hara, who played Premier League football for Tottenham, Portsmouth and Wolves, is somehow still in his twenties.
Yet, after a couple of years outside the top-flight, the former England Under-21 prospect might be ready to try his luck across the pond in Major League Soccer.
Following his release by Fulham this summer, the 29-year-old now finds himself on trial with San Jose Earthquakes, in the hope of earning a full-time deal with the MLS outfit.

San Jose are currently eighth of 10 teams in MLS’ Western Conference and in danger of missing out on the end-of-season playoffs for the third straight year.
They already have one former Tottenham man on their books – Simon Dawkins, who came through the ranks with O’Hara in North London – while one-time England Under-21 defender Jordan Stewart has been with the club since 2013.
If he earns a contract he will become one of a growing number of Englishmen in MLS. In addition to bigger names like Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, the league hosts lesser lights such as Seb Hines, Tyrone Mears and Jack Barmby.
