Jamie Vardy breaks off mid-interview to cheer on young Leicester fans

Leicester’s unexpected title win has been a victory not just for the club, but for the entire city.

Not only have the club secured their first ever top-flight title, but they’ve done so by a margin of 10 points – more than Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea team managed in 2014/15.

And fans were out in force to welcome the victorious squad as they went on an open-top bus parade across the city centre.

Jamie Vardy was visibly enjoying himself throughout the parade, and he even interrupted a BBC interview to call out in the direction of a group of young fans who had gone to great lengths to cheer their heroes.

The success hasn’t quite sunk in just yet, with Vardy admitting it might take a while longer before the players properly realise the extent of their achievements.

“I’m sure it will [sink in] over time,” Vardy said.

“It’s been an unbelievable achievement so I’ll just wait until it does sink in and I think I’ll have a few days to myself.”
