Jamie Vardy will miss Leicester City’s potential title-clincher against Manchester United this weekend.
The Foxes travel to Old Trafford knowing that a win would guarantee the first league title in their 132-year history, but will have to do so without their star striker after the FA extended his ban by an extra game.
The England international was sent off during his side’s 2-2 draw with West Ham after receiving a second yellow card for diving, a decision which has been highly contest by everyone from fans to England manger Roy Hodgson.
While the sending off meant he missed Sunday’s 4-0 demolition of Swansea, his reaction after the incident – in particular what he said to referee Jon Moss after he issued the red card – has drawn an improper conduct charge from the FA.
Vardy, who will be available for Leicester’s final two games of the season, has also been fined £10,000.
