Jamie Vardy’s journey from Stocksbridge Park Steels to the Premier League is well-known, but what has become of the club where he began.
It turns out that the non-league club have gone against all odds themselves in the FA Trophy.
While Vardy was scoring for the 11th successive Premier League game, the Steels were stunning holders North Ferriby United to make the first round proper of the competition.
The South Yorkshire side are two divisions below North Ferriby, and had already played three matches in the competition before taking on their opponents.
But two goals from Scott Ruthven helped seal a famous victory to take the Steels further in the competition than ever before.
