Joe Rogan reacts to Conor McGregor bus incident

Disappointed

Ben Kiely

Joe Rogan has always been a huge fan of Conor McGregor.

UFC colour commentator Joe Rogan has provided the narration for much of Conor McGregor’s rise to the zenith of prizefighting. He has watched him evolve from a European standout to global megastar.

Rogan has been a part of so many iconic moments in ‘the Notorious’s career. From ’50 Gs baby,’ to ‘Where the fuck is my second belt,’ Rogan has held the mic for so many memorable victory speeches. Whenever McGregor has a fight booked, Rogan will be the guy to provide the hype. Whenever someone talks negatively about McGregor, Rogan would be one of the first people to defend him.

However, Rogan found himself unable to defend what Conor McGregor did at the Barclays Center this week. His actions were indefensible. That’s plain for all to see.

Immediately after the news emerged of McGregor and his entourage storming into Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and throwing projectiles at one of the fighters’ buses, Dana White spoke to media. He called the incident “the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company.”

Artem Lobov was removed from the card because of his involvement. Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg withdrew from their respective fights because of injuries sustained from broken glass. In total, three fights fell through because of the attack on the bus.

During UFC 223, Rogan gave his take on the incident. He admitted ‘hating’ the awful situation which he labelled ‘disgusting’, ‘crazy’ and ‘pathetic’.  As a fan of McGregor’s, he found it particularly ‘upsetting’.
