After last week’s inspired selection of Steven Fletcher, we felt we were in danger of getting too big for our britches.
While we hope some of you followed our advice and captained the Sunderland striker (who got one goal and one assist in the Tyne-Wear Derby), we wanted to change tack this week.
That’s why we opened things up to our readers. From this week forward, we will be offering up three suggestions of our own and three from you.
Let’s see who does best from now until the end of the season.
Who's the one player you've had to bring into your fantasy team this week – and why? #FPL

JOE’s picks
Aleksandar Mitrovic – Striker – £6.2m
While Gini Wijnaldum has stolen the headlines of late for Newcastle United, another of their big-money signings has been quietly (by his own standards at least) finding his feet in the Premier League.
£15m man Mitrovic has toned down some of the more reckless elements of his game following a red card against Arsenal, and has found his scoring form with goals against Manchester City and Norwich.
There’s always the risk of a booking (he even got carded for celebrating a team-mate’s goal while on Serbia duty) but the visit of Stoke provides a great chance for the Serb to add to his Magpies tally.
Aleksandar Mitrovic: Has been fouled more often (every 15.9 mins) than any other player to start a Premier League game this season #nufc

Bafetimbi Gomis – Striker – £6.9m
After four goals in the first four games of the season, Gomis has failed to find the net since, but this weekend offers up the perfect chance for him to end that barren spell.
Put simply, the French international loves playing against Arsenal. He only scored seven league goals in his first Swansea season, but two of those were winners against Arsene Wenger’s side.
It seems like a few of you had the same thought process…
@JOE_co_uk Gomis as he'll probably score against @Arsenal

Aleksandar Kolarov – Defender – £6.1m
If you’ve got some budget left over for your defence, Kolarov should be a nailed-on pick.
Opponents Norwich tend to use the very attacking Nathan Redmond on the right of their midfield, and while this can cause defenders problems it also allows them to get forward. And Kolarov loves to get forward.
Manchester City scored 11 goals in their last two home games, and you’d put good money on them adding to that total against the Canaries.
4 – Kolarov has now scored four direct free kick goals for Manchester City; no player has ever managed more in the PL for the club. Citizen.

Readers’ Picks
@JOE_co_uk Sanchez, because I had the money and my loyalty to Pedro has reaped nothing but misery.
— Theo Bird (@TheonlyBird) October 29, 2015
We doubt he means Carlos Sanchez.
@JOE_co_uk kouyate from the hammers cos Shelvey wasn't getting me any points

A wily selection.
@JOE_co_uk Lukaku. Good fixtures and also the death of Diego Costa.
— psychopomp (@LLSDDaniel) October 29, 2015
RIP Diego, we hardly knew ye.
And here’s one more suggestion that I doubt too many of you will follow…
@JOE_co_uk John Jensen – 8 goals in 318 appearances would still be an improvement on my team's performance thus far.
