Stan Collymore was in the thick of the action on Wednesday night in Lille.
The talkSPORT commentator is in the French city ahead of England’s Euro 2016 clash with Wales, and recorded the trouble that flared between Russian, Welsh and English supporters.
Collymore live streamed a Russian supporter being apprehended by police on Periscope.
The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker can be heard saying “journaliste” in the clip, in an attempt to identify himself to the riot police. He came in for some criticism from Joey Barton for his reporting, who has been in the news too this week.

The new Rangers midfielder had a pop at Collymore in a series of tweets, ridiculing him for his willingness to get so close to the conflicts and reminded him he’s a sports broadcaster, and not a war correspondent.
If ever a man was to win a Pulitzer, surely it's Stan The Man in France. Been tear gased on the frontline almost everyday. @StanCollymore

Can a sports 'journaliste' even win a Pulitzer? Stay safe @StanCollymore

Will someone please get @StanCollymore off the streets of Lille before French Police batter him…😂😂😂

Is it just me thinking WTF is he doing? Get in the hotel FFS. You're Sports broadcaster not War Correspondent! #lostithim

Collymore gave as good as he got though, mocking Barton’s interest in philosophy.
Don't worry about me Joseph, surely you have some Socrates to be reading? https://t.co/MwlLIb0myD
