John Terry has again called out an Indian cigarette company for using his image without permission.
Gold Flake have seemingly persisted with a silhouetted photograph of the Aston Villa defender on their packaging and Terry is none too pleased with them.
The 36-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to hit out at the use of his image as branding on cigarettes.
“Disgusting from this company Gold Flake using my image on their cigarettes,” Terry wrote.
“I hate smoking!!!”
The Chelsea legend was first made aware of the fact that Gold Flake had used his image in 2012, and the player’s management group made it very clear that no permission had been given to the company.
“It’s been brought to our attention that an image of our client has been used on some cigarette packaging without our consent or knowledge,” a statement at the time read. “We’ve now instructed our legal team to investigate this matter.”
That investigation must not have been as fruitful as Terry would have hoped because it would appear that nothing has changed in five years.
