Jordan Henderson’s season has been cut short by injury.
The Liverpool captain was forced out of his side’s 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Thursday evening, and a scan on Friday afternoon revealed he has damaged the lateral collateral ligament in his left knee.
Recovering time from such an injury takes between six and eight weeks, meaning Henderson will miss the rest of the domestic season, and could be a doubt for England’s Euro 2016 squad.
