Jose Aldo has made an outrageous claim about Conor McGregor’s career

No way, Jose

It’s probably fair to say that Jose Aldo is still pretty annoyed about UFC 194.

Back in December, it took Conor McGregor just 13 seconds to dethrone the only featherweight champion the UFC had ever known up to that point, as he knocked Aldo out with one clean punch.

Two months on, and The Notorious has another title shot just around the corner at UFC 196 while Aldo is still waiting to hear about his future.

While the Brazilian is anxious to get his title back in the short-term, he has no doubt that he will outlast McGregor in the long-run.

When asked about the upcoming fight between McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos on March 5, the 29-year-old said: “I think it’s tough. And I’ll say this, I don’t think [McGregor] will have any belt by the end of the year. And everyone will forget him.

“He has this dream, this goal, but you can be sure that he won’t have any by the end of the year.

“A fight is a fight and you have to respect the other side, but I see Rafael with the [lightweight] belt and the [featherweight] belt back to me. That’s a fact.”

While we appreciate Aldo’s legacy within the UFC, there’s no doubting that McGregor has brought MMA to a whole new audience and it’s unlikely he’ll be forgotten so easily.
