Jose Aldo reveals he may follow Conor McGregor to lightweight to avenge loss

"You learn in defeat"

It looks like Andy Souwer’s prediction for Jose Aldo’s future after UFC 194 won’t come true.

Aldo’s training partner explained in a recent interview that he felt the former featherweight champion would hang up his 4 oz gloves for good after fighting Conor McGregor.

However, it seems as though getting knocked out in 13 seconds by the Notorious has only made the Brazilian hungrier. Aldo spoke to sportv.globo.com upon returning to Brazil and it seems like he has unfinished business in the sport.

“What I did in 10 years does not go out in 13 seconds. You win, lose, but learn in defeat. Soon we returned to be champions.”

Aldo revealed he is uncertain about his next fight, but it will most likely be a rematch with McGregor or a chance to win his belt back against Frankie Edgar should the Notorious move up to lightweight. He added that he may move up to 155 in order to fight McGregor again.

“The next fight could be a rematch, then it is to keep a level head. I do not know whether it is immediate or not revenge. We’re talking. Conor wants to move up, can no longer make weight. May fight in the weight up. The next could be a title fight with Frankie Edgar.”
