Since falling to a disappointing shoot-out defeat to Manchester City in the League Cup Final, things have been looking up for Liverpool.
Days later, they dished out revenge over City by beating them 3-0 in the league at Anfield and followed that up with a 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace.
On Thursday, they dominated their Europa League first leg against Manchester United, defeating their rivals 2-0 at home.
Understandably, plenty of Liverpool supporters are becoming increasingly optimistic about what the club can achieve next season.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to bring in several new faces to the club to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, and rumours that he is poised to swoop for one of his former Borussia Dortmund stars just won’t go away.
Yet again, Liverpool are being linked with Mario Götze , who left Klopp’s Dortmund side for Bayern Munich in 2013.
Götze is now expected to depart the Bavarian giants this summer after failing to hold down a regular starting berth at the Allianz Arena.
Now, according to a report from talkSPORT, Klopp is keen to bring Germany’s World Cup hero to Merseyside, although he faces competition from Juventus.
The Italian champions are lining up the 23-year-old as one of the big name signings they will make if Paul Pogba leaves Turin this summer.
