If you had any doubts about Jurgen Klopp being a different proposition to Brendan Rodgers, this ought to change your mind.
Rodgers and the Anfield transfer committee rejected the chance to sign free agent and Liverpool fan Andre Ayew over the summer.
But now, following the midfielder’s fast start to life in the Premier League, new boss Klopp could decide it’s better late than never and move for the Ghanaian.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Klopp has earmarked Ayew as a potential January recruit, while he is also keen to bring forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from former club Borussia Dortmund.
Former Marseille man Ayew joined Swansea on a free transfer after Liverpool said no, and his four league goals have included important strikes against Chelsea and Manchester United.
He would be substantially more expensive than he would have been a few months ago, but the 25-year-old could undoubtedly improve a team that sits just one place above the Swans in the Premier League table.
