Kane is a no show
England captain Harry Kane was due to return to Tottenham’s pre-season training on Monday, after a short holiday following the Euros. However, it has now been reported that Kane has not shown up.

Back in May, Sky News reported that Kane was keen to leave Tottenham, with Chelsea, Man City, and United all interested in him. At the end of June, Manchester City then made a £100m bid for the England captain.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Kane is acting on the assumption that he and the club had a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that they would let him leave this summer, despite signing a six-year contract with Spurs just three years ago.

Meanwhile, Man City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, said after last season’s Champions League final that the club will be “competitive and aggressive” this coming season. They are allegedly aiming to strengthen by bringing “quality to the squad in a couple of key positions”.
In other football news, Portsmouth has sacked three youth players for sending racist messages in a group chat that were directed at Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho.

A Portsmouth statement said: “Portsmouth Football Club can confirm that the investigation – and subsequent disciplinary process – into discriminatory messages that originated from an academy U18 private group chat has now concluded.
“We can confirm that a decision has been made today (July 28) to release three players from the academy. These players do have the right to appeal the club’s decision.
“Portsmouth Football Club are fully committed to the elimination of all forms of discrimination.
“We are part of a diverse community and are dedicated to promoting an environment of equality and inclusion at all times – both inside the football club and in our wider society.
“We also continue to respectfully appeal for everyone’s consideration in their use of social media posts directed towards any of the club’s employees and any other external parties.”
