Hero. Icon. Two time Premier League winner. Everyone’s favourite footballing uncle.
There are many words you can use to describe Kolo “Francois” Toure, but unfortunately “Liverpool FC player” will no longer be one of them.
As reported in the Liverpool Echo, Kolo Toure is expected to be released today, after not having been offered a contract extension from the club.

Kolo signed for the club in 2013 following a move from Manchester City and made 71 appearances for Liverpool, his final game being an wonderful defensive performance in their Europa League Final defeat to Sevilla.
It took a while for the big man to get going for the Reds, but when he was good, he was bloody good. And the rest of the time, he was just his usual, charming, loveable self.

Yes, we know Kolo was 35 and entering the twilight of his career. Yes, he’ll probably do a decent job when he inevitably ends up in France, but… we’ll just miss him ok? We’ll miss having Kolo Toure around.
