In an effort to bring out his fiercer side, the Barcelona man has been studying one of the angriest men in football – Jack Wilshere.
While he’s yet to buy a bulldog or acquire a Union Jack sofa, the eagle-eyed amongst us will have noticed the first step towards the Wilsherisation of one of the world’s best.

It appears as though the transformation has already begun, with Messi dictating play against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League without threatening to score – a classic Wilshere move.
We can soon expect him to drop deeper and deeper, eventually sitting in front of the back four and snapping at the ankles of opponents.
If Messi’s wondering what to have done next time he goes under the needle, we’ve got some suggestions. Just remember, though, the Wilshere fandom has its limits.
