We are just two games into the new season – but already one Liverpool fan has had enough of Jurgen Klopp.
Just one week after the Reds beat Arsenal 4-3 in a thrilling match at the Emirates, the furious supporter called a BBC Radio 5Live phone-in show to air his grievances with the German.
Klopp replaced former Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers in October, but Reds fan David says the German is in fact “no better than Rodgers” and says the team is “going backwards”.
His complaints against the former Borussia Dortmund chief are many, but include these assertions:
- “Jurgen Klopp has made Liverpool worse”
- “The summer signings have been dreadful.”
- “Liverpool are so easy to score against.”
- “If he has a bad season – with his team – I think he’d have to go.”
- “We finished eighth last season. We finished seventh and second with Brendan Rodgers. We’re going backwards now.”
David also takes aim at Klopp’s squad management, questioning why Joe Allen was allowed to leave for Stoke, why Alberto Moreno is still at the club (he may have a point on that one…) and why Simon Mignolet is being picked in goal.
You can listen to David’s full rant here:
Now, while we would always defend a fan’s right to have their say, is it not a bit early to be writing Klopp and his team off?
And again, we remind you: this comes just one week after the Reds beat Arsenal 4-3 away from home.
Still, it’s a game of opinions and all that. But would you said to Jurgen’s face, David?
