Even if he eluded the police officer, he was always going to get caught.
If you’re going to commit a crime, you should probably do your best not to have it caught on live TV. Obviously this thief didn’t get that talk from his father as he found his criminal activities broadcast to millions of viewers when he seemingly attempted to steal a handbag in France.
A Euro 2016 piece-to-camera on Sky Sports Italia was disrupted when a criminal was filmed sprinting past reporter Angelo Mangiante, closely pursued by a police officer.
Now football has its fair share of dodgy dealings, but we’re sure Mangiante didn’t expect to have to suddenly become a crime correspondent mid broadcast.
But he adapted effortlessly as the sport report quickly turned into a live-action crime report as Mangiante updated his viewers that the thief had been apprehended just off screen.

Our Italian is a bit rusty since Italia ’90 but we can’t help but be impressed how calmly he switches gears and updates viewers on the pursuit. It’s almost like he was expecting it to happen, though we’re not ones to suggest any sort of wide-ranging conspiracy with little or no evidence.
Crime doesn’t pay, kids. And it can make you look a right eejit if you do it on live television.
