Liverpool Football Club have announced the appointment of Scott Rogers as manager of the Liverpool Ladies team.
Rogers will assume the position immediately having worked as assistant boss under Scott Beard for the last three years, and after namesake Brendan’s tenure at Anfield he’ll probably be quick to stress there’s no ‘D’ in his surname.
Beard, meanwhile, will take over as manager of the Boston Breakers in the US having helped the Reds win Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014.

Commenting on his appointment, Rogers said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage Liverpool Ladies.
“Having worked under the stewardship of Matt for the past three seasons, I know what a great club this is and cannot wait to get started.
“We have had a tremendous run and although we were unfortunate with injuries last season we have a young, hungry squad and I am confident we will be competitive again next season.”
