It might not be the playing return that many had hoped for, but the sight of Steven Gerrard taking part in a training session was enough to delight Liverpool fans.
Back on Merseyside after his season with LA Galaxy ended in disappointment, Gerrard was in attendance at his former club’s Melwood training facilities.
And Liverpool fans were clearly excited by the return of their hero…
