The end of an era.
Liverpool Football Club have announced that Ian Ayre will step down as the club’s Chief Executive Officer at the end of May 2017, when his current contract expires.
The Anfield club stressed that the decision was Ayre’s himself, and that they actually did their best to talk him out of making the leap.

The official statement read: “Under his leadership, we have seen Liverpool transform from a club that was on the brink of bankruptcy, to one which today enjoys strong financial and operational health.”
Despite this, the majority of Liverpool fans seem to have reacted with a level of glee at the news. They perceive him as somewhat lacking in transfer market savvy and football know-how. Just look at the sheer elation…
