So that’s a no then…for now.
Cynics will say that Liverpool could hardly come out and say anything else, but the club have emphatically denied reports from Italy that Carlo Ancelotti is being lined up to replace Brendan Rodgers as manager.
Rodgers’ position has come under scrutiny following a poor campaign last season – and a disappointing start to this year’s campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s name has been the one most frequently linked as Rodgers’ replacement should owners FSG decide a change is needed, but on Tuesday night Calcio Mercato claimed that an approach had been made for the former Chelsea boss, who is out of work since leaving Real Madrid last summer.
Within 12 hours, Liverpool have emphatically denied that any approach has been made for the Italian…
Liverpool could not be any firmer this morning. The club is adamant there has been no approach to Carlo Ancelotti.
