If you weren’t already aware of Tom Davies, you’ll be hearing a lot about him very soon.
If you did already know about him, you’ll still be hearing a whole lot more about the Everton midfielder.
The Liverpool-born prospect only turned 18 over the summer, but he has really established himself under new Toffees manager Ronald Koeman.
Davies didn’t look one bit out of place in Everton’s Premier League victory over Manchester City – justifying Koeman’s decision to leave Morgan Schneiderlin and James McCarthy on the bench – and capped off a virtuoso performance with his team’s third goal.
Or did he?

Davies showed great skill to take two City defenders out of the game, before collecting a return pass from Kevin Mirallas and dinking the ball over Claudio Bravo.
The strike drew plenty of praise and admiration,

However, as the ball trickled towards goal, there were suggestions that Romelu Lukaku might have got contact on the ball before it crossed the line.
There are few better stories in the Premier League than a local lad scoring a cracker against elite opposition, so plenty were hoping Lukaku didn’t get a touch.

Lukaku's tried his best to take candy off a baby there.

Hahaha Lukaku 100% tried to steal that but missed it

Sometimes, though, you’ve just got to see the funny side.
Good assist from Tom Davies. All about the Lukaku finish though…
