Sorry who, Jamie?
Sky Sports pundits are not famed for their expert pronunciation of foreign names, Paul Merson being the worst offender in that regard. But today it was Jamie Redknapp.
Discussing the effect that Alexis Sanchez’s arrival will have on the Manchester United squad, Redknapp expressed his concern that it could mean fewer playing opportunities for United’s young British players who play in the same position.
Marcus Rashford has shown his quality across the front line over the past couple of years since he broke into the United side during an injury crisis, as has Jesse Lingard, or ‘Lindegaard’ as Redknapp called him.

Man United of course had Anders Lindegaard, the goalkeeper, between 2010-2015. He’s now at Burnley as third choice behind Tom Heaton and Nick Pope.
The names are quite similar, granted; it’s a matter of an extra syllable chucked in the middle, but United fans weren’t going to let it go unnoticed.
