Liverpool fans may have started a trend that could have greedy football owners counting their filthy lucre.
On Wednesday evening, the Merseysider’s owners announced that after fan protests and much anger around the club’s proposed plans to try and charge £77 for a match a ticket had been scrapped.
Instead the maximum price for a ticket at Anfield next season, and the season after, will be a more manageable £59.
Ticket prices are a huge issue for supporters of clubs across the Premier League but tonight’s seemingly successful action against American owners has a ]some fans very very pleased.
Manchester United is of course owned by the Glazers, and fans of Liverpool’s greatest rivals have been praising what has been achieved on Merseyside this evening while some Arsenal fans have also rowed in with kudos to the Red’s supporters

Absolutely fantastic by the Liverpool fans. It worked. And hopefully this will send a message to all other clubs.

A shame that our so called 'fans' never show up at any planned demos etc. Liverpool are an example of what can happen. Fair play mickeys.

While most football fans felt the victory was a small but significant one.
It does show you how Arsenal fans's are southern donuts in that Liverpool fans did more than us in 1 game than us in 10 years

Fair play to the Liverpool fans. Actually got off their arses (quite literally) unlike the fans at most other top clubs.

Hopefully other football fans follow Liverpool fans example and ticket prices won't be as ridiculous
