Manchester United fans aren’t happy Anthony Martial didn’t get the FIFA 17 cover

They're not happy.

The toys are well and truly out of the pram.

Manchester United fans clearly thought it was going to be Anthony Martial on the cover of the new FIFA 17 game. Why wouldn’t it be?

After all the 20-year-old he did score 17 goals in 45 games in his debut season at United and helped them to a top five finish.

And if Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson can get on the bloody cover, then surely Martial’s a shoe in, right?

He only had to beat off competition from the lacklustre Chelsea star Eden Hazard, Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez and some German player. Cake walk. Mere formality. Piece of piss. After a few years of no Manchester United player on the box, Martial was coming to confirm United’s return to the big boy table of world football.

Except the young French star was pipped to the honour by Borussia Dortmund frontman Marco Reus.

Reus was voted by the game-playing public as the man to be splashed across every copy of the new edition from here to Shanghai, when it comes out at the end of September.

Some Manchester United fans didn’t the news too well though…

There was only one explanation for it really…

In the end, it always comes down to Arsenal fans. Especially when a poll is involved. Apparently.
