If you were one of the people that loved seeing Mario Balotelli at Liverpool, then happy days.
But if you were in the other 99.9 per cent who rued the day the former Man City striker walked through the Anfield doors, then we’re sorry to be the bearers of bad news.
The Liverpool faithful must have thought they’d seen the back of the sulky, sullen, misfiring striker when he was sent packing to AC Milan after scoring just four goals in 25 games.
He hasn’t really set the world alight in Italy and his time at Milan has  not been extended. Another failed attempt at the 25-year-old restarting his stalling career has meant speculation has been rife about where he’s heading next.
The threat of Balotelli returning to Liverpool to rejoin Jurgen Klopp’s new look side has been looming large and the club appear to have been doing everything in their power to get rid.
But it looks like recent speculation that the former Italy striker might be heading off to Turkey to join Superlig side Besiktas was wide of the mark.
As nobody seems to be willing to take a punt on Ballotelli, it can mean only one thing – he’s heading back to Merseyside after the summer.
‘His option now is Liverpool, and that is a great option, his agent Mino Raiola told Goal with some good old-fashioned positive spin.
‘I have not discussed Mario with Besiktas and I have never spoken to any Turkish media about that. I said last year they are the worst for writing lies and that is again the case.’
Liverpool will still be keen to find a new club for Balotelli and appear to be having equal bother recouping some of the £30-plus-million they paid for Christian Benteke.
