Mats Hummels finally appears to be on his way out of Borussia Dortmund

Mats on the move

When it comes to transfer rumours involving Borussia Dortmund’s players, we all know well enough we should take them with a pinch of salt.

In the not-so-distant past, it’s not been uncommon to see various Dortmund stars heavily linked with potential Premier League suitors, only to eventually opt to either stay put at the Westfalenstadion or p*ss off to Bayern Munich.

Although it might seem as though Mats Hummels has joined Manchester United at least three times since 2013, the German international is also one of those who has yet to leave Die Schwarzgelben.

Now, though, it seems Hummels could very well be seeking pastures new in the months ahead.

After he told German publication Bild earlier this months that he was uncertain about his future, the same paper now suggests Barcelona are keen to bring the 27-year-old to Catalunya.

Hummels reportedly caught the eye of Barca’s sporting director Ariedo Braida on his recent scouting trip to watch Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and with a year left on his current deal with Dortmund, it seems that he could be on the move.
