Matt Hamill suffered a quick KO loss in his Venator debut on Saturday night.
You see that one in Jon Jones’ (22-1) loss column? That belongs to Matt “The Hammer” Hamill (12-7).
Arguably the greatest MMA fighter on planet Earth, Jones has ran through pretty much everyone at light heavyweight including Lyoto Machida, Qinton “Rampage” Jackson, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustaffson, to name but a few.
To be fair, he also had a pretty easy time against Hamill, pummeling him into a bloody pulp.
However, that contest on the Ultimate Fighter 10 finale still goes down as a win for Hamill, for the simple reason that Jones repeatedly cracked him in the face with an elbow that’s slightly more vertical angle than permissible in the rulebook. Hamill was awarded the win after Jones was disqualified under the 12-6 elbow rule.

The only man to “beat” Jon Jones inside the Octagon made his Venator FC debut on Saturday night against fellow UFC veteran Sokoudjou.
The fight did not last long with Sokoudjou taking just 37 seconds to dismantle Hamill’s chin with heavy haymakers to earn himself a TKO victory – his 11th knockout in 17 professional wins.
This was only the second time the 40-year-old Hamill has fought since losing his last ever UFC fight to Thiago Silva (no, not that one) via unanimous decision back at UFC Fight Night 29. Having already retired from the sport twice, this could be the last time we ever see the New York native competing.
