We know he wanted to strengthen his frontline, but this is ridiculous.
Mauricio Pochettino isn’t the type of manager who likes to attract attention. Whilst some of his Premier League peers at other clubs battle for the media limelight and personal adulation, the Spurs man is happy to keep it low-key and let his results do the talking.
Certainly a lot of his sterling work at White Hart Lane has gone under the radar as he has quietly built one of the most formidable squads in the country. He leaves the mind games and headlines to others.
But on Wednesday, as Tottenham’s playing staff and coaches returned to training, he was receiving attention of a kind that he may not fully appreciate…then again, maybe he would.
That’s because Poch’s forward line was somewhat conspicuous in his new Nike garb, and it didn’t go unnoticed on social media. Indeed it left folk more than a little hot under the collar. Even in his playing days, we doubt the Spurs man’s tackle ever received this much scrutiny.
It’s always the quiet ones, eh?
