The suspension could be extended indefinitely following further investigations.

The Nevada Athletics Commission have suspended both Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov following their actions after their lightweight title fight at UFC 229 last weekend.

Their current suspension will last for ten days beginning Monday 15 October, and could be extended indefinitely following an investigation and a subsequent hearing, which is set to take place on Wednesday 24 October.

According to USA Today, neither McGregor, Nurmagomedov, or their management teams have yet responded for comment.

On Thursday, Nurmagomedov put out a statement on Instagram in response to Dana White’s claim that he could ban his teammate Zubaira Tukhugov from competing in the UFC after he was involved in a brawl with McGregor at the end of the main event.

Khabib said: “If you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too. We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go to the end for my Brother. If you still decide to fire him, don’t forget to send me my broken contract, otherwise I’ll break it myself.

“And one more thing, you can keep my money that you are withholding. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat. We have defended our honor and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end.”
