Michael Bisping responds to “crybaby” Chris Weidman’s post-fight claims

"If he thinks I'm ducking him, he's f**king crazy!"

Michael Bisping is a veteran and knows too well the importance of setting up his next fight as soon as possible.

So many young fighters frustrate fans with their refusal to get on the mic immediately after a win and call out an opponent in no uncertain terms but Michael Bisping has never displayed that kind of timidity.

‘The Count’ left himself with plenty of options in his post-fight diatribe once presented with a microphone following his UFC 204 victory over Dan Henderson on Saturday night.

Top-ranked middleweights Luke Rockhold, ‘Jacare’ Souza, Yoel Romero and Chris Weidman were all told to “get off the couch” if they wanted the next title shot.

Former 185lbs champion Weidman wasted no time in offering up his opinion on the UFC 204 main event as he took to the MMA Hour to brand Bisping’s decision victory “embarrassing”.

There is something of a mini-tournament at play to decide the next challenger for Bisping’s middleweight title as the above four names will fight it out on two cards across two different continents in the next six weeks.

And if Weidman is victorious in his UFC 205 clash with Romero, he could well find himself in the position to reclaim the belt he once called his own.

Bisping’s certainly not averse to the idea.

“If that fucking whiner, that crybaby, Chris Weidman wants to do it then I’m more than happy,” Bisping in an interview on UFC Unfiltered after hearing Weidman’s comments.

“If he gets past Romero next month then let’s do it. I’m happy. If he thinks I’m ducking him, he’s fucking crazy. I’ve never ducked anyone in my life. I’m certainly not going to start with that fucking douchebag.

“If wants to do it, he can come out here and try to wrestle me to death but he will find himself getting punched in the face repeatedly. Dan Henderson was a tough ask but I’ll finish Chris Weidman, that’s for sure.”

Weidman last fought in December of last year, when he was stopped in the fourth round of his title defence against Rockhold, and it was his injury-forced withdrawal from the rematch in June that set up Bisping’s first crack at UFC gold, one which he grasped with both hands.

But there is definitely a possibility that Bisping’s second title defence comes against Weidman, depending on how he fares against Romero.

And the Brit continued to explain why ‘The All-American’ gets under his skin.

“He just doesn’t stop complaining, does he?” Bisping added. “He probably feels like everyone owes him something and preaches on about God and this and that. He should shut the fuck up. He’s not part of God’s plan. If there is a God he’s got bigger fish to fry than Chris Weidman and his fucking life.”
