Michael Owen has an interesting view on John Stones, and by interesting we mean difficult to fathom.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker was on BT Sports’ show Fleth & Sav on Saturday morning and offered a defence of Stones.
The 21-year-old made a costly error while playing for England against the Netherlands earlier this week, and has come under-fire at times from the Everton crowd for his propensity to attempt Cruyff turns in his own penalty area.
Stones is undoubtedly a talented player, who has the potential to have a brilliant career at club and international level. But he currently finds himself sitting on the bench at Goodison Park as he continues his development.
Still, this hasn’t stopped Owen from claiming the Toffees defender could walk right into the current Barcelona side, despite not being able to get a game for the 12th best team in the Premier League.
