Manchester City will finally welcome back Sergio Aguero for the visit of Liverpool on Saturday.
Aguero had been in phenomenal form for City before injuring himself on international duty for Argentina.
Whereas his return will be a welcome boost to City, the news that two of his team-mates will be absent is a blow for Manuel Pellegrini.
David Silva remains out with the ankle injury he picked up when representing Spain and is joined by Vincent Kompany.
The City captain had only recently returned from an injury lay-off before he was forced to pull out of the Belgium squad for the recent international games with a calf injury.
After confirming the return of Aguero, Pellegrini delivered the news that Samir Nasri and Wilfried Bony would also be absent through injury.
“David Silva continues with some small pain in his ankle and it risk to play, but unfortunately Samir Nasri has an injury Wilfried Bony and Vincent Kompany are both injured.”
