Montenegro’s match with Russia was temporarily suspended after the visitors’ goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev, was injured by a flare thrown from the stands.
The Euro 2016 qualifying clash had only kicked off seconds earlier, before the missile seemingly hit Akinfeev in the back of the head.
Early reports suggested the 28-year-old was knocked unconscious as the game was immediately brought to a halt.
However, the match resumed after a 35-minute delay, with Akinfeev taken to hospital for treatment.
