Nate Diaz looks ripped and ready ahead of his Conor McGregor rematch

He's put some size on....

Ben Kenyon

Conor McGregor might want to think twice before calling Nate Diaz ‘skinny fat’ again.

The Notorious famously had a dig at Diaz’s physique before the two men fought at UFC 196, saying “How can a fat guy be so skinny?”

McGregor came into that fight bigger, stronger and more heavily muscled to fight the Stockton native at two weeks notice…and we all know what happened next.

But this time round Diaz is going to have the benefit of a full fight camp under his belt rather than 10 days of hammering the high intensity cardio conditioning before he beat the Irishman in Las Vegas.

The Californian posted a picture on his Instagram and fans on Reddit noticed the increased size and muscularity of him.

Diaz, who has mostly fought at lightweight, will be coming in as a true welterweight for the 170lb rematch at UFC 202.

As fans have noted, he may even have to make a significant weight cut before the bout.

In the other fight corner, McGregor is taking a rapidly different approach to his diet and training  this time round after his coach John Kavanagh admitted big mistakes were made leading up to the defeat.

Now McGregor is working on his cardio capacity at the heavier weight and his ‘steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner’ diet is out of the window and Georges Lockhart has got him on optimal performance food only.

We could even see McGregor coming in at 165lbs.

So it looks like we’ll see a leaner and lighter McGregor and a heavier and stronger Diaz when they meet on August 20. Game on.
