We’re safe to say that Tuesday 19 April may well go down in UFC history.
Earlier this evening Conor McGregor dropped a hardly believable bombshell on his fans, with a cryptic 13-word tweet that hinted he could be about to quit the life of a MMA fighter for good.
I have decided to retire young.
Thanks for the cheese.

The reaction to the news was huge, with fans struggling to believe the revelation, and Joe Rogan suggesting that it was all just some trolling on the part of the 27-year-old.
No reason was given, but the explanation will surely emerge in the coming hours.
McGregor is due to fight Nate Diaz in a rematch at welterweight at UFC 200 in July, and the Stockton native has responded to the message from McGregor in typically cheeky fashion.
I guess my work here is done I'm retiring too✌🏼️👊🏼

We doubt Diaz is actually retiring, but it seems the current UFC featherweight champion is very much about to leave the sport he has dedicated the last ten years of his life to.
His coach John Kavanagh has seemingly confirmed the news.
Well was fun while it lasted
