Lionel Messi is just back from injury but he’ll have to go some way to match Steph Curry’s start to the season.
It is early days but the 2015 MVP’s Golden State Warriors are on course to defend their NBA title, with the West Coast franchise making a record-breaking start to the season with 16 wins from 16.
Ably assisted by the likes of Andre Iguadola, Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green, Curry and the Warriors have laid waste to all they have faced.
On this side of the Atlantic, Barcelona, with Neymar and Luis Suarez filling in for the absent Messi, are threatening to defend their own Champions League title with a similar level of dominance.
But it is Curry and Messi who put bums on seats and the American superstar was asked if he saw any similarities between them.
He thinks they’re both “fancy”.
“We both have a creative style, where it’s just about a feel when you’re out on the pitch or on the court,” Curry said. “I try to do the fancy things out there by going with both hands, making crossover moves and having a certain creativity and flair to my game.
“That’s definitely the style that Messi has when he’s out there in his matches. I love watching him play. I’m a big fan, because you never know what he’s going to do at any given moment. When he’s on TV, everyone is glued in, because as soon as he gets a touch on the ball, something special could happen.
“You’ve got to appreciate that kind of talent.”

What do you think? We can definitely see a likeness. They are both fancy!
