Football can be an emotional game at the best of times, and a last-gasp defeat is one of the most painful things a fan can suffer.
It’s even worse when the loss comes as a result of an individual error, but Newcastle fans have shown plenty of class in their treatment of goalkeeper Rob Elliot.
The Magpies lost to Everton when the Irish international’s weak stoppage-time punch was headed in by Tom Cleverley, but the club’s supporters recognised Elliot’s overall contribution.

Having had the best chances of the game, and the @the_dilsh making some top stops, I now feel completely deflated 😞

What a horrible way to lose a football match. Chances for us in the second half to win. @the_dilsh @mbemba22 with another top performance
