We’ve all been hoping for some positive news regarding the condition of Nick Blackwell.
The middleweight boxer is being treated for a bleed on his brain that he sustained in a title fight against Chris Eubank Junior last weekend.
Blackwell has been in a coma ever since, but doctors at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington are reportedly confident about starting to bring him round in the next 24 hours.
Having already decided that he won’t require surgery, coming out of sedation would be the crucial first step on the long road to recovery.
The news comes after Blackwell’s friend Billy Joe Saunders said on Twitter that he was making good progress in hospital.
