In the words of John Kavanagh, it was fun while it lasted.
The UFC are sticking to their guns following Conor McGregor’s announcement that he has returned from the briefest retirement in the history of retirements.
The featherweight champion has explained that he is willing to be the headline act of the UFC’s landmark UFC 200 card on July 9, but not at the expense of his training.
Shortly after he sent out his retirement tweet though, Dana White pulled him from what the promotion is hoping will be their biggest ever event.

SBG head coach John Kavanagh has encouraged fans to let their voices be heard. If they want McGregor to fight in July, Kavanagh urged them to pipe up, as he claims McGregor is ready to go to war. It appears as though Kavanagh’s appeal has worked as White can no longer post on social media without being hounded by McGregor fans.
However, it appears as though the UFC have retaliated to McGregor and Kavanagh’s call to arms thumbs on their official website. A few hours after Kavanagh sent that tweet, UFC 200’s main event was changed from McGregor v Nate Diaz to the highly anticipated grudge match between “To Be Announced” and “To Be Determined”.
GSP to the rescue, perhaps?
