Sporting predictions used to be the exclusive domain of Conor McGregor, Anthony Joshua and this guy.
But now we can add another name to that list – Morolake Akinosun.
The American sprinter will represent her country at the Rio Olympics…five years after she predicted exactly that…along with a couple of other things.

Ok, it doesn’t take a genius to predict that a 17-year-old will be 22 five years later, but Akinosun will graduate from the University of Texas this December.
And, of course, she will be part of the American Olympic team in Brazil, competing in the 4x100m relay.
It will be her first ever Olympic appearance, so her presence in Rio was far harder to predict than some others.
Fans have been quick to congratulate the up-and-comer, whose 100m time of 10.95 was the fourth-fastest from a US athlete this year.

Perhaps we’ve been doing things all wrong. Maybe our failures have been because we didn’t believe in our own abilities.
It’s time to will past predictions into being, like Stuart Pearce’s predicted England XI and the starting line-up that Sky Sports’ Tony Cascasino suggested Pep Guardiola might end up with in Manchester.
