Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes!!!
God bless you, Sean Shelby!
Remember back in September, when Robbie Lawler broke the hearts of fight fans the world over by pulling out of his scheduled UFC 205 date with Donald Cerrone?
Tough times, we know.
The fight was perfect! Literally perfect!
Cerrone was still in the midst of his welterweight winning streak which brought forth ninja-like feats of athleticism seemingly every time he took to the Octagon at 170lbs while Lawler needed a big name against which to make his return after losing the welterweight title to current champ Tyron Woodley.
The stylistic match-up had us all turning into this guy…
And thanking this guy…
All was right with the world because Lawler and Cerrone had been matched up but then that God-damn injury curse struck again and ‘Ruthless’ was forced off of the November card.
Well fear not, ladies and gents.
Because the fight is back on!
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to break news of the welterweight war, which will take place at UFC 213 on the Saturday night of international fight week.
BREAKING: Per @danawhite, @Ruthless_RL vs. @Cowboycerrone is a done deal for UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas.

Neither man has taken a backwards step in years and the sheer toughness of both make this tilt the barnburner of all barnburners.
Lawler hasn’t competed since losing his belt to Woodley in devastating fashion at UFC 201 while ‘Cowboy’ is hoping to get back on the horse since losing his first fight at welterweight when Jorge Masvidal finished him at the beginning of the year.
Lawler vs. Cerrone is the first fight announced for UFC 213, which is expected to be one of the biggest fight cards of 2017.
And the matchmaking has got off to a pretty damn good start.
