Opposition player ‘cheated’ in Arsenal’s shock defeat to Zagreb

Cos he got high...

JOE

It has been revealed that Dinamo Zagreb player Arijan Ademi failed a drug test on the night of his side’s victory over Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Croatian-born midfielder was instrumental in Dinamo’s 2-1 home victory over the Gunners, which leaves Arsene Wenger’s men in a perilous position in Group F with zero points.

Ademi will now face disciplinary proceedings if his B-sample is also positive. Sadly for Arsenal however, the outcome will have no effect on their predicament.

It seems one player cheating is fine – only if two or more players are found guilty of substance abuse can points be deducted or results be deemed null and void.

Dinamo for their part have released the following statement:

‘We are aware of the results of the doping control test after the match of the Champions League first round against Arsenal and that our player, Arijan Ademi, was positive, and that UEFA opened proceedings against him.’
