The problem with football fan TV channels is that they attract a certain type of person. More often than not, they tend to be attention-seeking rent-a-gobs making no sense whatsoever extremely loudly. Not always of course, but very often.

Granted it makes for entertaining viewing, especially if you’re a rival supporter taking great delight in an explosive on-screen meltdown. And we all know that a certain North London club has its fair share of such…’personalities’.

But rarely do you see someone speaking genuine sense and meaning every word with heartfelt emotion. Rarer still is their point so universal and on the money that you can’t help agree no matter where your allegiances lie.

Following Liverpool’s tepid elimination from the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, of course their fan channel was going to encounter pissed off contributors. But for one passionate young man, losing an isolated fixture was the tip of the iceberg.

He took specific issue with the atmosphere at Anfield, and other big club stadia around the country. With the sanitised nature of modern football in his crosshairs, he lamented the phenomenon of ‘tourist club’ with a mixture of anger and sadness.

This was not a mere vent on foreign supporters as an easy target, but rather an impassioned argument against the gentrification of football as a whole. Corporate boxes, selfie sticks, pizza boxes and obscene ticket prices – all shot down with great eloquence and rare sense.

Have a watch for yourself, and see if you agree…
