The 41-year-old will play in the Premier Futsal League next month, alongside former Barcelona midfielder Deco. The game is played indoors, with five players on each side, and for two 20 minute periods.

The tournament will take place across eight cities in India during July.

Scholes made a name for himself as a midfielder enforcer with a knack for a a defence-splitting pass and an eye for goal.

The former England international made the third most appearances in Manchester United history, winning 11 Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups, two Champions League trophies and a World Club Cup Championship in his 718 appearances for the Red Devils.

And if Scholes is as good at futsal as he is on astroturf with his mates, Indian fans are set to be in for a real treat.
