People are loving Angel Rangel’s Spanish-Welsh hybrid accent

The Swansea captain was speaking to the BBC

Swansea City booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup earlier this week.

Swansea beat Sheffield Wednesday in an FA Cup replay which neither side wanted, a match devoid of quality and in front of a far from full attendance in freezing conditions at the Liberty Stadium. Jordan Ayew and Nathan Dyer got the goals for the home side, who will play Tottenham Hotspur in the next round, after they beat Rochdale 6-1 in their FA Cup replay at Wembley.

The highlight of Swansea’s match was when club captain Angel Rangel spoke to the BBC at half-time. Rangel, who missed the game through injury, is Spanish, but has played for Swansea since 2007, joining the club when they were in League One.

His decade in Wales has produced a hybrid Spanish-Welsh accent, which viewers at home quite enjoyed.
