Pep Guardiola has reportedly wants Arsenal midfielder as his first Manchester City signing

Arsenal’s days as a spending club might not be over just yet.

The Gunners may be ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League, but that hasn’t stopped City from trying to poach one of their hottest young prospects in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The 22-year-old has been identified as a potential summer signing by incoming City boss Pep Guardiola, who is reportedly planning an overhaul of the current squad according to The Times.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal in 2011 for a fee of around £15m, but the England international would surely carry a much higher price tag this time around – especially if he were to leave to a Premier League rival.

The former Southampton man’s season has been hindered by injuries, but at just 22-years-old, he remains a part of Arsene Wenger’s long-term plan for the club.
