If we were to compile a list of things that irk the modern day football fan, half-and-half scarves would almost certainly feature near the top.
Football – at least as far as most of us are concerned – is about supporting *one* team, so the idea of proudly wearing something around your neck partly bearing the colours of a rival team is quite simply weird.
Although most of us will agree that they’re a terrible idea, there’s no sign of the half-and-half scarves craze disappearing any time soon…Â And now, Pep Guardiola appears to be getting involved.
The soon-to-be Manchester City boss was in attendance as Germany took on Italy at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening, and was seen sporting one of the scarves.

In fairness to Pep – a former Spanish international – he probably was watching the game as a neutral. With that in  mind, maybe we shouldn’t expect to see him rocking up to the next Manchester derby with one of these draped around his neck.
