Poor Phil Jones can’t win on social media.
When he’s not accidentally p*ssing off Man United fans by plastering his logo all over an image of the Busby Babes, he is mercilessly ripped apart for trying to grow his ‘personal brand’ via the internet.
And so it proved again as the generally likeable if somewhat awkward defender tweeted out a video message to all his many fans of Asian extraction to wish them a happy Lunar New Year.

As you can see, Jones’ dulcet Prestonian tones are enhanced with the kind of background music you’d expect to hear on one of the 900 channels on your Sky box, and he is accompanied by a pair of cuddly pugs.
This was more than enough ammo for internet p*sstakers, who were quick to mock the defender for his best efforts. People can be so cruel…and funny.

@PhilJones4 Phil, you're not Cristiano Ronaldo. Stop with the logo.

@PhilJones4 Love your sense of humour. You've not even got many 'fans' in Manchester so for everyone's sake drop this PJ4 branding shite.
